Ever since the beginning of Eiros Group over 5 years ago, leading and living in a Culture of Gentleness has been integral to the core philosophy of Eiros Group.
Gentle Teaching is practiced in many countries throughout the world including the United States, Canada, India, South America, Asia and Europe. This year marks the 24th Annual Gentle Teaching International Conference in Aalborg, Denmark. Each year, this conference brings together professionals and organizations worldwide, that work together to develop, promote and strengthen the values of Gentle Teaching.
The Gentle Teaching International Conference 2025 is hosted by Sødisbakke, one of Denmark’s leading special services for adults with physical and mental disabilities. Like Eiros Group, they have attended numerous GTI Conferences over the years, and are excited to be the host of this year's event in Aalborg, Denmark.
The 3 day conference includes numerous workshops and presentations, for networking and educational purposes, intended to showcase the impact of Gentle Teaching in reshaping organizational culture.
On behalf of Eiros Group, our Chief Operations Officer, Kristen Mathews will be presenting, "Gentle Teaching and Building Meaningful Connections", a workshop which illustrates how we use a Culture of Gentleness, combined with Charting the Life Course, for our customers.
Look for a recap of the GTI2025 Conference in our October edition of the Eiros Group Newsletter!

The job market is increasingly competitive, especially for individuals with disabilities. Accessing employment opportunities may require extra support, resources, or skill
development.
Having just entered the job market, Elizabeth focused on gaining skills through volunteering at the Center for Independent Living of South Jersey. She gained skills in
customer service, compliance and the professional importance of being on time and working with a team.
With these newfound skills and the assistance of her career counselor through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), Elizabeth was referred to the Helms Academy where she is working on a (25) week clerical assessment.
Elizabeth’s journey is not over and has not happened overnight; however, she continues to pursue her interests with an open mind and an open heart.
Elizabeth, you’ve embraced new skills and the empowerment that comes with learning and growth. Eiros Group wishes you continued success in all your future endeavors.
Each month, we receive submissions from Eiros Group Employees, the people we support, and their families, about a variety of topics including services, insights, vacation or holiday experiences, family memories or traditions, favorite recipes and stories about life with disability. If you would like to submit an article, photos or both for consideration in an upcoming edition, please send to: maryb@eiros-group.com We are grateful for all of the contributions to our newsletter!

As the seasons begin to shift from one to the next, the chance for severe weather is always a possibility. September is historically the peak of Hurricane season as well. The New “Register Ready – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry for Disasters” allows New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.
Remember, being prepared is the most important thing to do. Register with your county's Office of Emergency Management, regularly run down the lists of important contacts, and know what to do. The first line of defense in any disaster is being prepared.
