The ‘A Team’ was formed in December 2023 to support a wonderful young woman named Alina as she began her journey into self-direction. From the very beginning, Alina’s biggest dream was to move into her own apartment and create a space that truly felt like home.
Of course, the housing market didn’t always cooperate the way we’d hoped — but through every challenge and setback, Alina and her team never gave up. Alina and her team’s determination, patience, and teamwork kept her dream alive.
As of November 2025, Alina’s Dream has come true — she has moved into her very own apartment! This incredible achievement stands as a testament to her perseverance and the unwavering support of her team. Together, they turned hope into reality and opened the door to Alina’s next great
adventure.
Alina may the best of every adventure be forever in your heart.
To Georgea, Prince, and Christine, your watchful eye, continued belief and support in the best and your warm friendship ~ Thank you.

With the season of Grace, Gratitude and Giving upon us, we cannot fully express all of the things that give us a full heart throughout every day.
We feel very fortunate to have so many talented, dedicated Supports Brokers, Direct Support Professionals, Employees and Customers, who, at every turn, delight and surprise us.
Whether you are caring for an elderly parent, sibling or child with developmental disabilities, or another family member, there is no question that caregiving, can at times be overwhelming.
November is a time to recognize and honor caregivers across the country. In 1997, the first National Caregivers Month proclamation was signed, honoring the contributions caregivers provide.
With the holiday season quickly arriving, it is essential that caregivers remember to take time to care for themselves, and to always reach out when they need assistance - whether that is for a personal or professional reason. When the caregiver is feeling supported and stress-free, it then helps to support those in their care, by providing a safe, loving and nurturing environment.
We are always encouraging personal growth, wellness and confidence to each person that is a touch point in the Eiros Group ecosystem.
To continue the positive momentum and continued growth of Eiros Group, we are delighted to welcome Jack Mudge to our team. Jack is well known throughout developmental disabilities communities in both Northern New Jersey and the Adirondacks of New York, bringing a strong background of non-profit and executive organizational management expertise.
Jack has also been a long time advisor and friend to Jenn and her late husband Mike. Jack has been instrumental in guiding the Browns through new chapters over the years, and we are delighted to have him be a part of the Eiros Group team! We are confident that Jack's experience in the field of developmental disabilities, teamed with our skilled and dedicated team, will lead our organization into the future!
We wish you all a peaceful holiday season!
"Growth is never by chance; it it the result of forces working together." ~ James Cash Penney
Assisting and Empowering You to Self-Direct

In New Jersey, people can self-direct all, or some of their Home and Community Based Services. Self-direction is a way to have more choice and control over supports and services. This means you can hire your own support staff, and coordinate the programs, services and activities you want to do.
DDD recently released a new fact sheet designed to help people with disabilities, and their families better understand self-direction, and how Supports Brokerage can have a positive impact for you to coordinate and maintain self-directed services.
When working with your Support Coordinator, in addition to learning about self-direction, you can also choose a Supports Brokerage agency such as Eiros Group, to help you select self-directed services, plan for independent living, and help locate assistance. For more information, view "What We Do" on the Eiros Group website. You can also learn more through this link, "Understanding Self-Directed Services in New Jersey and the Role of the Supports Broker."
By Cathleen Capasso, Eiros Group Compliance Manager
Eiros Group would like to share that the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has released
updated Supports and Community Care Program (CCP) Policy Manuals with clearer guidance on eligibility, care management, service delivery, and quality assurance. You can view the manuals
here.
The manual outlines the standards and procedures that govern all aspects of the Supports Program — including eligibility, care management, service delivery, and quality assurance. It
serves as an important resource for individuals, families, Division personnel, and Medicaid/Division-approved providers such as Service Providers and Support Coordination Agencies.
Here’s what it means for you:
To help individuals and families better understand some of the key elements of the policy manuals, a quick guide for families is available. Please feel free to request your copy by contacting our Quality Assurance Department at cathleenc@eiros-group.com.

(A Parent's Story)

My son has been in residential placement since 2006. As a parent sorting through a bureaucracy and its shortcomings, you begin to realize no one will lose sleep over your child but you. This is why I chose Eiros Group.
It is impossible to wear every hat and navigate through a complex system. My child’s happiness is just as important
as any other child. He is a contributing member of society and has been employed with the same company since 2002. The day program he attended filled a void, however, he needed to engage in something geared towards his personal goals and interests. It was also vital to have someone looking out for his future. Someone who truly listened and knew how to find the “perfect fit”.
Having known of Eiros Group since their inception, when it comes to the needs of our children and community, this agency knows every parent and caregivers concerns. They also know the potential of our children who are capable and willing to give one hundred percent of themselves.
Once we met our Supports Broker, Desiree, it was surreal to have someone so attentive, understanding and knowledgeable who would help us navigate through the process of finding exactly what we wanted and needed. She has always been professional, determined, compassionate and supportive. These are but a few of her extensive, finer attributes as well as her gentle, beautiful spirit.
Many thanks, Eiros Group for your continuous dedication. Your commitment continues to open doors in a world where our children can make a much needed difference.
Sincerely,
Debra
PS: This photo was made possible because someone had faith in our community in 2002. Thank you Wawa!

As someone who loves colder weather, I am also someone who loves a good hearty, satisfying and easy recipe. On a particularly chilly afternoon, I recently made one of my favorites, Creamy Parmesan Italian Sausage Soup. It was, as always, the perfect recipe to warm my belly!
INGREDIENTS:
1 can (15 oz) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups vegetable broth
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cannellini beans, vegetable broth, dried basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat and let the soup simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Use an immersion blender to blend the soup to your desired consistency, or leave it chunky for more texture.
7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.

Attending this year’s Self-Direction Conference highlighted the continued quest for sustainability. This event convened a diverse community of individuals, families, professionals and advocates to examining how self-direction can drive meaningful, long lasting change.
From meeting and to listening to those who are experiencing, first hand, the ideas and work that go into living a self-directed life, our Supports Brokerage team gained more insight and expertise from the event.
A few thoughtful questions were presented from the various sessions offered throughout the day such as:
The answers came from people who’ve actually been transformed by person-centered planning, and have experienced how it changed their lives. It came as no surprise that their responses were so genuine and powerful.
Overall, the sessions were informative, the speakers sincere, and it felt like a day truly well spent — full of learning and inspiration.
