Culture of Gentleness Online Training Sessions
This is a required training for Eiros Group employees, so you will be compensated for your time in attending.
Each training will be offered in two 4-hour blocks for a total of 8 hours of training. You must attend the two consecutive trainings that month, as the training is designed to be delivered with the same cohort of students for Part 1 and Part 2.
ALL Eiros Group employees will be expected to complete this training by the end of January 2024. We are imaging you will be able to plan far enough in advance to have this training completed, while allowing you to work around your
work and family schedules. That is also why they are on different times of day and days of the week.

As we begin preparing for the holidays, we know stress can also become a part of the equation. It is important everyday to make happiness a priority and to be gentle with yourself in the process. Focusing on the attitude of gratitude may sound overused, but it often does help. When things begin to feel overwhelming, take a moment to pause, and think of something you are grateful for. You’d be surprised how this small exercise really can change your whole perspective.

Last week, Eiros Group was honored to be a part of the 24th Annual Supportive Housing Conference in Somerset, NJ.
The SHA Conference is an educational and networking opportunity for housing and service providers, community planners, housing developers, publicofficials, families/consumers and those interested in promoting and advancing supportive housing for people with special needs. Addressing state, regional as well as national issues, the conference draws an average of up to 300 attendees.
The Supportive Housing Conference is an opportunity to enlighten, inspire and empower those in our industry who strive to provide homes and services for people of low income and with special needs.
Supportive housing is designed for people with special needs including but not limited to those with mental, physical and developmental disabilities as well as people who are homeless. Supportive Housing refers to the combination of housing with an array of services designed to assist a person to live as independently as possible. Housing must be safe, decent and affordable.
Supportive services can vary but often include case management, care coordination, job and education coaching, assistance with daily living skills, transportation, access to public entitlements and crisis intervention. Supportive housing exists in all types of neighborhoods, residential settings, and service models.

The National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices and Systems has statewide learning collaboratives (teams) in many states across the US. New Jersey has a learning team, made up of people from all parts of the disability service system, including and most importantly, people with disabilities and families.
The New Jersey team would like to learn from individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families regarding Self-Directed Services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Department of Human Services. You do not need to currently be using Self-Directed services to participate in the survey. As a matter of fact, if you are not using Self-Directed Services, our survey encourages you to share why not.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (Division) is pleased to announce that, starting February 1, 2022, the current Agency with Choice (AWC) SDE Model will be available for all eligible individuals to choose from! The Division has offered the Vendor Fiscal/Employer Agent (VF/EA) model with Public Partnerships LLC (PPL) as the fiscal intermediary for several years while the AWC model with Easterseals NJ as the fiscal intermediary was primarily available to those transitioning to Fee-For-Service. Now that this process is complete, enrollment into the AWC SDE Model will be open to all eligible individuals. Please note that there are no changes to the VF/EA model and those using it do not need to take any action.
Individuals are encouraged to discuss all service options with their support coordinator and choose what is right for them. These include more traditional provider managed services, as well as SDE models. There are differences between the two SDE models available. These include, but are not limited to: who is identified as the employer of record; the availability of employer-sponsored health benefits and associated contributions.

Whenever we meet a family, one of the first questions we will ask is what are your dreams? That is where we start. Building the foundation and connections to help get a person with a #disability access to their dreams and help #makeithappen . We know it’s not magic, but when all the right things fall #intoplace that is when the real magic happens, and someone’s dream is realized.
The next two weeks can be two of the most jam packed, activity loaded, socially stuffed weeks of the entire year. Sometimes… it all just completely stresses you out. Add to that, living or loving a person with a disability, and it can become next level. Fortunately, there are so many fantastic resources available, and it is a part of our services. Reminder to all self directed employees hired before 7/21: Be sure to have completed the College of Direct Support self directed employees (SDE) training programs, along with cpr and first aid training by 12/15/21 and submit certifications to the Public Partnerships SDE portal by 12/15/21 for the one time reimbursement. As we begin to wrap up this part of the week, in anticipation of the gatherings and friends and feasts and families we will begin to receive, we want to take a moment to give thanks. While we had a vision, experience, hopes and plans, we could not fully imagine the incredible response we have received from everyone. We are truly, truly thankful and grateful. Ready for a new direction and join a meaningful organization? We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to work in our Lebanon, New Jersey office. Duties include but not limited to:
1. Maintains professional customer service with employees, colleagues, and outside agencies.
2. Prepares and processes all aspects of Eiros Group billing and payroll.
3. Compiles time and attendance for the processing of payroll.
4. Prepares and records disbursements expense requests.
5. Coordinates all quarterly and year-end employee and vendor reports for taxation purposes including the processing and dispensing of W-2 forms and 1099s
6. Retirement/Federal reports and payments.
7. Prints all accounts payable checks; reviews for accuracy.
8. Reviews all insurance billing for accuracy.
9. Processes all deposits and logs journal entries.
10. Reconciles all bank statements.
11. Provides payroll information to authorized third-party vendors.
12. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director.

Since the start of Covid-19, The Collaborative for Citizen Directed Supports of NJ has been working diligently in connecting available DSPs & SDEs with people who are in need of their services. This work-in-progress includes an interactive virtual map indicating where DSP/SDEs are available for work now so that people and families can contact them directly for an immediate start date. People and families in need of services can also post their request for support!
